Such a arthritis hardly ever occurs earlier than age forty, and affects nearly everybody over 60 years.

This is where a pain relieving product known as bio freeze comes in. I bought biofreeze pain relieving gel with ILEX Pain Relieving Gel as a result of I accidentally pulled my hamstring while jogging one morning. I will need to have skipped my heat-up exercise because it hasn’t been 10 minutes that I was jogging when out of the blue the muscles behind my right leg damage I had to skip on my solution to the car. I chose biofreeze ointment as a result of I’ve tried many different ache relieving gels out there and the one thing they gave was heat and nothing more. I assumed if this did not work then I can go back to other brands. I have shares of ache relieving gels at home as a result of my sister has neuropathy. This product has a bizarre smell. It would not scent like menthol. It has a faint smell of medicinal plants. I purchased the one that is being sprayed. I sprayed it on the again of my legs.

What Causes Jaw Pain?

July 23rd, 2010 youngman No comments

Is lower jaw pain keeping you up at night? Are you experiencing pain to your teeth that starts from the jaw and also causes pain to the ear? Looking for some TMJ relief?

Definition of TMJ

TMJ is an affliction of the joint called temporomandibular that can cause debilitating pain and inflammation to the joint. It can become hard to open your mouth, chew, cause headaches, toothaches and pain generating into your ear, neck and face. If you think you are suffering from this or have the above TMJ symptoms you need to find some TMJ pain relief.

The fact that this is the only joint in the body moves up and down and also left to right makes it very complicated. Because of that the joint tends to become weak resulting in pain. The joint is found directly below the ear and connects the lower jaw to the skull.

You could suffer from this disorder for many different reasons such as inheriting it like arthritis, stress which causes most people to clinch their jaw or trauma from an accident or after receiving a punch to the jaw. The pain is the same no matter what actually caused it, making it hard to tolerate and having difficulty eating, sleeping and just living life.

How Can You Cure TMJ?

You have several choices to cure this pain to the lower jaw; some are more invasive than others. People that suffer from acute TMJ often opt for surgery, however, this can be quite costly and most insurance companies will not cover this type of surgery. What would the pain be like after breaking your jaw for reconstructive surgery!

Another option even for long time sufferers of this disorder is TMJ exercises that you can do right from your home to strengthen the damaged and weak joint. The pain will subside and if you do experience any pain, it will not last as long.
So if you have suffered from TMJ pain, try some TMJ exercises to get TMJ pain relief. You don’t have to continue to suffer from this disorder any longer.

Remedies for Gout

July 10th, 2010 youngman No comments

Gout is just one of the many forms of arthritis, an affection of the joints that can be found in millions of people. Gout may be the most encountered type of arthritis, and it manifests as an attack that most often appears during the night . The affected joint is the one that can be found in the big toe in a lot of cases , (the big toe’s ball) but gout can affect one of the joints from the ankles too. If gout is left untreated then the flair ups start to appear very often and they will spread to other joints. In this situation treatment is required, because gout can become chronic gout and cripple the joints.

Gout appears to people who have too much uric acid in their body. Uric acid is produced from the food which is digested and broken down into its basic elements that are absorbed by the body. Sometimes there is an overload of uric acid in the blood. Gout soon occurs after the uric acid has started to crystallize in the joints causing irritation and inflammation.

Consequently, the cause of gout is too much uric acid in the blood.

But what could cause the level of uric acid found in the blood to raise above the normal limit?

Well this could be caused by being overweight , certain types of medication, or an over indulgence of alcohol.

What’s the best way to know how to treat gout?

If you want to treat gout then you need to reduce the levels of uric acid in the blood. You can achieve this by changing the food you eat so that it doesn’t have the types of food that contain purines, substances that raises the uric acid level. Red meat, peas, liver and shellfish are foods that have a lot of purines in them. So you should eat very little of the above mentioned foods.

Medication is available that can lower the amount of uric acid from the body but don’t take any unless the doctor tells to do so because this medication could cause problems if the dose is not properly controlled.

So if you have been afflicted with a gout attack visit your doctor soon and listen carefully to his advice. You will be given some medication that you have to take every day and you will be advised to change your diet to lower the uric acid from the blood. If you do so you will not have any problems with gout anymore .

That aside, the FitFlops look pretty good too . In addition to the original Walkstar, they keep the product line fresh with new styles like the more feminine Electra and  Pietra; these two versions of the summer FitFlop are expected to by far outsell the rest, and most women will have at least two pairs if not more!

Arthritis and the Paleo Diet

June 7th, 2010 youngman No comments

Arthritis and your diet….is there a connection between the two?  If you ask those that subscribe to the paleo diet, they will tell you absolutely   . And while many people will scoff at the notion that somehow diet is the culprit between alleviating arthritis pain or having to take medication to prevent the pain, the reality is that what we eat, in fact, could factor in to how arthritis affects us .   The paleo diet could relieve arthritic pain…

From a historical view, our diet, which consists mainly of agricultural foods, is relatively new  . Before that, we were hunters and gatherers, eating berries, eating what we can catch and kill and foraging for vegetables. The paleo methodology claims that that is the way we should be eating today.   It asserts that things such as grains, milk, pasta and breads were never meant to eat.  Instead, they argue, that what we should be eating are foods that we ate pre-agricultural times when we were hunters and gatherers.

The belief that this form of diet could do many things for the body is now being supported by some in the scientific community . There is evidence that suggests that lectins (a substance found in grains, dairy, peanuts, beans and potatoes) could possibly aggrevate arthritic conditions because they are able to cross over the gastrointestinal wall and get into the blood stream .   From there, the substance can get into soft tissue and cause inflammation in the joints, causing arthritis  .

Because the paleo diet is so focused on so called clean foods, this diet is richer in nutrients that could in turn help the body fight off inflammation; a common factor with arthritis .

Is Arthritis naturally treatable?

No one know this answer for sure just yet.   And there are some in the scientific community who will argue this point. Some argue that cultures that are primitive don’t experience these so called modern day diseases because they don’t live long enough to experience them   Those who are supporters of this diet won’t budge though.  They essentially believe that many chronic conditions can be prevented by eating cleanly.

Be forewarned…if you want to go on a paleolithic diet, it will be harder than most diets    The common belief of this diet is fresh fruit, fresh vegetables and lean animal protein.   Some paleo dieters will cheat a little, eating peanut butter .   As far as sugar goes, only honey and the fructose found in fruits is allowed  .    Granulated sugar is off limits as well as artificial sweeteners  .   This could make a dieter have to literally empty their pantry and start over .

The other benefit that is proven with the paleo diet is that you will lose weight quickly . The best news is that there is not another diet that you can do that will drop as much weight quickly and do so in a healthy fashion.  This means that not only will you feel more “alive”, arthritis pain could go away and you could drop weight.  Now who wouldn’t want that?

“Stopped anti-inflammatory drugs…”

“I have just recently read your article: Modulation of immune function by dietary lectins in rheumatoid arthritis. (British Journal of Nutrition 2000 83,207-217) and find this is the best explanation of joint problems I’ve been having for the past two and a half years. The attacks I’ve had are of arthritic characteristics, red hot, swollen and very painful. The attacks are random and becoming more frequent to the point where I have been bed ridden. Since reading your article I have stopped eating grains and now find my joints are beginning to feel much better, So much so that I have stopped taking prescription anti inflammatory drugs.”

What Are The Main Symptoms Of Arthritis?

June 3rd, 2010 youngman No comments

Arthritis is a very complicated disease . There are just about 100 different types  of arthritis, though most people only suffer from three . These three are rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and gout. In spite of  the differences in type and reason , arthritis of all sorts  is marked by similar  symptoms. It is important that everyone  know how  to recognize arthritis symptoms

The initial  and most common  symptom of arthritis is pain in a specific  joint or a group of joints. Common  sites on the body that are affected include the knees, hips, ankles, hands, neck, wrists and shoulders .  In fact, any joint  which is subject to heavy stress and repeated movement, is a candidate for arthritis.

In order to reach a diagnosis of arthritis, this joint pain must be chronic  or recurring in nature.  A one time occurrence of joint pain does not necessarily indicate  arthritis, though it could be a symptom of other diseases. Correct diagnosis of the symptoms is a prerequisite for any form of Arthritis Treatment

Swelling at the affected joints is another common symptom. Depending on the type  of arthritis you  may have, there are different  triggers that cause  the body to build up a pocket of lymph around the joints to help cushion them. This actually aggravates the pain in most  cases.

Crepitus is a major symptom of arthritis . This is a sound or sensation of bones grinding together. It occurs in the case of broken bones and rheumatic joints. If your body snaps and pops when you rise in the morning, the odds are that you have or are developing arthritis. This symptom   occurs  most commonly  in the neck, where the cervical vertebrae are worn. This condition is called spondylosis.

A decrease  in the range of motion  of specific  affected joints is another indicator of arthritis. Range of motion is defined as the percentage of movement a person is capable of, compared to what medical science says is the maximum possible range of movement in a joint. For example, the shoulders should be able to rotate through nearly 360 degrees with the arm held near the body. Side to side motion should be from across the body in front to about 45 degrees behind. Up and down should be a full 180 degrees.

If a sufferer is unable to move the shoulder through the full range of motion as described , this could mean that arthritis is developing or already present in that joint. There are other problems that can  restrict  range of motion, so it is important  to have a doctor perform  a physical examination to determine if arthritis is the cause.

Joint disfigurement often occurs with rheumatoid arthritis and gout. In the case of gout, the joints affected are those that connect the great toe to the rest of the foot. In grave cases, this joint can become so distorted that it is unrecognizable and the toe may point almost completely sideways.

RA  often causes the joints of the hands and fingers to swell and distort  until the fingers are almost useless during an attack. They may curl back toward the hand or distend out to the sides until they do not look like they are properly attached anymore. Other joints may  be affected in a similar way .

Fever at the joints that are puffy or an unexplained general fever can also be arthritis symptoms.
